Advice:                        Look for the long term, start slowly, don't expect results overnight but they will come

My business keeps me very busy...sometimes I feel it owns me instead of the other way around. As a result over the years I have neglected my health and gained some pounds as well as lost some muscle mass. It had made me feel tired and sluggish at the end of the day. I decided to do something about it and the first thing was to quite the bottle of wine I was drinking every night to calm down and relax. Just by doing that alone I lost 20 lbs in 2 months without any working out. Since I started a moderate program of fitness I have lost another 10 lbs in the last 2 months. My overall goal is to tone up, increase my energy levels, develope a better diet program, and get back some muscle mass to help my energy levels stay up, increase my self image, and be an encouragement to others. This can be done by all who put their heart and mind into it and be consistant...this is the rule. Don't expect results overnight. It will come. You will notice a difference in 3 months if you keep with the program. Your friends will probably see it sooner than you. Keep all in balance...there is more to this life than just our bodies, relationships with our loved ones, kindness to others, and above all following the leadership of our Creator how ever you precieve Him/Her and the spirtual laws that govern the now and our next journey into eternity. I love you all and wish you safe passage through this thing we call life...this is only the beginning. If you trust in the Almighty you will be able to do amazing things in your life and in the lives of others. Submit your bodies and your minds and I promise, you will be amazed at what becomes of the next year. Sometimes it seems it is harder to live than to die. Life is a gift and how we treat it is our responsibility. I want to thank all of you on this web site. It takes great courage to come forward and ask for help and others the heartfullness to show others the inspiration to start and go forward for those of us who have little or no direction. Truthfully, I am a soul that wants the fullist of mind, body and spirt. I would be interested in hearing from those pure in heart that are willing to help me and others with those concepts that has helped them grow to be an all around better individual on this small piece of dirt we call Earth. We, as a community of healthy minded individuals can network and help create the positive futures of others if you have the time and heart for it.

LOL, Dallas

Welcome to MBS Dallas!  Glad you found us.  There are a bunch of helpful people out here all with diverse goals for their bodies. Make sure to add some pictures when you have time. Before/after or before/progress are great motivators.  The My Body Journal is also a great place to share you triumphs and tragedies with the rest of us.

Good luck!
