How To Combine Mixed Martial Arts And Bodybuilding

DaneFletcher Mixed martial arts (MMA) is very popular these days among men trying to get in shape while learning to defend themselves. Many bodybuilders are discovering the sport and like the idea of getting in shape while learning to fight better. Likewise, many MMA fighters are discovering the benefits of weight training to help in the fighting ring.

It should be noted that you could never really become highly advanced in both bodybuilding and MMA simultaneously. They require different energy expenditures and food/training protocols. But you can become a pretty good bodybuilder, employing MMA as a cardio technique to help you lose body fat while working to reach your bodybuilding goals. You'll look good, and be able to handle yourself as well.

Training

You'll want to select one goal to come first - even if it's only a "1" and "1A" sort of arrangement. Set your three bodybuilding days on the calendar. Set your three martial arts days on the calendar. Make them independent events - try to avoid adding weight training to MMA routines, and fighting to your weight training days.

Diet

Eat like a bodybuilder, but include additional carbs BEFORE your MMA workouts, and proteins AFTERWAR  ------

Optimal Heart Rate For Cardio Workouts
By Dane C. Fletcher

Many bodybuilders do cardio only by the clock. They know they have to hop on the treadmill and knock out 30 or 45 minutes' worth of plugging away, and they're done. Some more educated bodybuilders will occasionally attempt to tailor their program, opting for custom incline/intensity levels or perhaps keeping an eye on calories burned. The most intelligent bodybuilders will take heart rate into consideration when completing their cardio, in order to garner the most effective results.

Bodybuilders should be training at their optimal heart rate, which is 50 to 60 percent of their maximum heart rate. There are several steps to calculating this number.

  • First, find your maximum heart rate (MHR). This is easy. Subtract your age from the number 220. If you are 30 years old, then your maximum heart rate is 220 minus 30, or 190
  • Next, multiply your MHR by .50, and write down this number. This is you're your optimal minimum.
  • Next, multiply your MHR by .60, and write down this number. This number is your optimal maximum.

Now, as you complete your cardio, try to keep your heart r  ------

Bodybuilding Weight Training – How Many Days A Week Should You Train?

DaneFletcher Bodybuilding Weight Training - How Many Days A Week Should You Train?

By Dane C. Fletcher

The most common question in bodybuilding training usually involves frequency of training. Busy people don't have enough time. Young people have too much time. Some folks train two days per week. Others prefer 6 or 7 days. What is the optimum number of training days per week? It all depends on your goals!

If you're just starting out

If you're just starting out, start with 3 days a week and move up. Your body will tell you when more frequency is required. Recovery is actually MORE important than training or diet, and many people often overlook this fact and spend more time sick or sore than they do growing.

If you're an intermediate bodybuilder

If you've been training for 2 to 5 years, then you're ready for a nice split! There are two common ways to split up the week for 4-days-per-week training.

---Four day split

1. Chest and abs

2. Back & bis

3. Rest/cardio

4. Shoulders/tris

5. Legs

6.   ------

The Benefits of High-Fiber Diets

By: Dane Fletcher

During the past 100,000 years man hasn't changed much. The size of his brain and the physiology of his body are just about the same as the ancients who invented the wheel and built the pyramids.

But our diets have changed. A lot! During the early part of the last century our great grandparents ate 500 grams of carbohydrates per day. By the end of the century we were eating 360 grams. The intake of complex carbohydrates rich in fiber has decreased enormously resulting in a lack of fiber in the American diet.

Everywhere you look nowadays, from supermarket shelves to fast food window advertisements, the low carb diet is on display. Step back from the hype and read a few articles and books on diet and nutrition. Every study conducted in the past few decades has shown that eating carbohydrates in the form of fruits, whole grains, vegetables, and beans is like a magic bullet for good health and weight loss.

A Bodybuilding Leg Workout That Gets Fast Results

DaneFletcher Because bodybuilding leg training is undoubtedly strenuous and demanding, some body builders find their leg development lagging behind merely because they do not put an all-out effort in line with it. It is common to become disillusioned concerning the development of the leg muscles. It seems brutal; nevertheless, a leg workout that gets results involves physical energy and mental push to achieve desired results.

A powerful bodybuilding leg workout includes a blend of full squats, leg press, front squats, lunges, straight-leg dead lifts, and sissy squats. It takes significant effort to create a bodybuilding leg workout that activates muscle response effectively. There are body buildings who do not pay the same level of importance to training their lower body in comparison to their upper body.

Efficient exercises require proper technique in order to achieve maximum benefit. Additionally, a hard-hitting leg workout needs maximum intensity for optimal effectiveness. A bodybuilding leg workout and incorporates squats are a substantial way to condition the muscles regarding the legs. Full squats represent traditional mass-building exercises designed for the entire lower body, but the principle of full squats focuses on the enhancement of all four heads of  ------
